ER Product Alignment
How CounterPoint Products are Aligned to ER Products
ER identifies products with a Part ID that is frequently not the same as our ITEM_NO in CounterPoint.
Even when ER's Part ID and our ITEM_NO are identical, the two products need to be aligned so CP+ can retrieve ER data from their feed.
It is possible, and common, for this alignment process to return multiple matches, or data for a different product than expected. For example an ITEM_NO in CounterPoint might match a lookupID in ER and a barcode entry for that same CounterPoint product might also match a different part ID in ER's data feed.
- We store multiple aliases for a single product in:
- ITEM_NO
- multiple barcode table entries
- ER stores multiple aliases for a single product in at least the following:
- PartID
- lookupID
- barcode
- UPC
- supersedes
- csiPartID
- cccPartID
The alignment process compares all of the aliases from CounterPoint with all of the aliases from ER and looks for matches.
