Data From ER is For a Different Product
Sometimes the product CDN will show the following warning:
WARNING:
SKU-A Data from ER is for a different product: [ SKU-Z ]What Does This Error Mean?
When the CDN aligns SKUs (ITEM_NO in CounterPoint) with ER's data feed, it is possible, and common, that ER may return multiple or different products. This is because ER has, in some way, connected two different SKUs.
For example:
- SKU-A has been replaced with SKU-Z
- SKU-A is not carried by ER, but they do carry SKU-Z which they consider an identical product
- An entry in our barcodes table is a match to SKU-Z in ER's feed
- SKU-A is an ER lookup alias for SKU-Z
- SKU-A is matched to SKU-Z because it's in the CSI or CCC print catalog as SKU-Z
There may be additional reasons why ER returns data for a different product than expected.
