Number of Pages
Page count is entered as a number. Values like "36 Pages" or "128 Pages Plus Answer Key" are invalid.
Mostly this attribute applies to books. However, there are some grey area products.
Do enter a number of pages for items like:
- Notepads with 50 sheets are "pages"
- Quick reference guides like those from Bar Charts are "pages" (ex: 6 pages)
Do not enter a number of pages for items that don't truly have "pages" like:
- Products with a "4-page Instruction Guide"
-
Products with "sheets" that aren't really pages. For example:
- Bulletin Board Sets with 7 sheets
- Stickers with 4 sheets
- Nameplates with 36 nameplates
- Bookmarks with 36 bookmarks
- Certificates or awards with with 36 certificates
- Packs or reams of unbound paper (example: lined nwesprint or construction paper)
For most of the examples above, the value would be entered in the Quantity in Package field.
For book sets like "12 books with 16 pages each" enter 16 for the number of pages. This should also be enumerated in the Quantity in Package field and in the long description. If the books in the set do not all have the same number pages, leave the Number of Pages field blank and explain the page breakdown in the long description.
If the vendor breaks down pages like "116 pages plus 12-page answer key," you should enter the sum (128).
Products With No Pages
Many products do not have pages. Choose one of these options:
- Leave the Number of Pages field blank
-
Enter 0
- Tip: Entering 0 will prevent the product from showing up on the 'missing data' reports
When Number of Pages is empty or set to 0 it won't show up on the website.
